Its not that simple, you still have to unlock and then go through the hassle of getting the other builds and stuff. Besides, what if someone was a new player and did not know this site existed or did not know that gwiki existed? he would be pretty damn screwed. Thats the point im trying to make.

yeah, i'm thinking that the answer is to buy prophecies. anet would be sorta shooting themselves in the foot by eliminating demand for their own product. it really isn't fair to expect that from them if you think about it from their perspective.
Edit: $19.99 on amazon (get it by Tuesday, April 10 if you order it in the next 17 hours and 22 minutes)

A-net will not make it core probably for the above reason. If you have to buy proph to get into Elite groups then they are going to get a lot more prophs sales and therefore get more money (which is what they need). I don't know how A-net survieves on the money it makes currently, they can't be rolling in profit like blizzard.

Why would Anet make it core skill if they can make some people having a thought to buy prophecies because of some these skills.

By who, exactly? The legions of people who don't know how to properly execute quick and efficient battle? Please don't say such things, as many people will disagree with you, possibly backing their statements up with factual information.
/sigh (note: expression of distaste, not signature of approval, for those who are reading impared)
I must say, Meteor Shower used to be pretty key to many PvE Elementalist builds. However, nowadays, you can do much more damage in the same amount of time in a much more efficient manner just by spamming Searing Flames. Yes, you lose the three knockdowns from Meteor Shower (which the mobs can run out of anyway), but you gain a few hundred damage, and you come out of a battle with no exhaustion whatsoever, without having to rely on another skill to offset that particular downside (I personally say that's a more than fair trade-off). Searing Flames is far superior to Meteor Shower, but then again, that should be expected of an Elite spell.
That being said, Meteor Shower being moved to the Core set of skill doesn't seem like it'd be a real problem, other than a possibly insignificant loss of profits... However, as I see no reason for the move to be made, and encourage diversity in builds as opposed to "Bring X or don't play at all", I will not sign this particular petition.

Rolling in profit like Blizzard? No, but 2000000 accounts at say $50 / account (not taking into account that a large portion of those accounts have upwards of $150 invested) = $100000000 (100 million)
Now add in that ANet currently has 114 employees (according to arena.net) and lets give them an avg salary of $50k/year, which works out to 5.7 million / year, that still leaves atleast 90 million for servers, etc.
Sounds fairly profitable to me.

This is why I love GW2. It will have expansions so everyone will be able to buy from scratches and move forward. The biggest problems with Proph and Factions is that they have stopped stocking in not-well known shops and in smaller parts of Europe, while on the other hand if you're a teen your parents will rarely take out their credit card and buy you another game.
I wish in GWEN that there comes a new skill that will pwn MS and put it in forgiveness (possibly with exhaustion) so eles would rarely use double exhaustion if they combine these two. And since it's an expansion all three campaigns will be able to use it.
As for putting MS in core I don't agree with that as much I would like to have the famous Shower. That would be too much power for other campaigns and not much left for Proph.
As far as spamming SF it would be better spam if you combine MS+SF :P
EDIT: Maybe if they lowered recharge time of Meteor it could kinda replace MS (and/or if they removed the exhaustion)

I own all 3 campaigns, and absolutely can't imagine NOT having Meteor Shower, since it's probably the most important direct-damage spell in the game. I feel sorry for those without it!

That would just make everyone winge about skills they can't get and cause a total mess. Just buy the game and get it. Put some effort in like everyone else.

meteor shower is a good skill, but it's only really useful in areas with mass numbers of high health or amour rating as it takes ages to start working. What I'm trying to say is look out side that box and you will find much better builds for normal areas, which really other the challenge argument, you have no reason to leave.
As for it being "THE most vital Elementalist PvE skill in the entire game"
aura of restoration and the attunements are much more important, well in my opinion.

Find a good guild, go to those higher end areas with your guildies who understand that you don't have prophecies and will work the builds around what the players can play. Anyone who demands meteor shower is not going to be a nice person when doing these missions anyway...

Sorry. But It's not like you can't get Meteor Shower at all.
You just get Prophecies, play a cuple of training Arenas, unlock it, then buy it.
You an't buy Prophecies... a shame... I could not buy Collector Factions and had to stuck with normal one. But I'm not asking to make 'Kuunavagh minipet' available for all.

Obviously, if they made MS core, they would have to make another core fire skill go to prophecies. So it would be sort of a trade off.
One reason I can't get prophecies right now is that it would take up too much of my time. Some people can't sit and think of tedious builds to work around campaign disabilities. I can, but than other people would reject these builds.
Also @ Shadow Prison: GG moebius strike. Or deadly prison. BoA sin is so vulnerable in a hundred different ways.
The main problem really is; Factions should have been an expansion, and nightfall should have been stand alone like it is, instead of both being stand alone. Factions doesn't have enough good skills to accommodate classes such as PvE eles. It also lacks key skills such as MS and SS.
